Terms of Service
Last updated 23 October 2026
These are the rules for using Memoir. By creating an account you agree to them.
Memoir is operated by Memoir Events, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. “We”, “us” and “Memoir” below mean that company.
Your account
You need to be 18 or older. You sign in with a phone number and are responsible for what happens under your account — keep access to that number secure.
You can delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account. If other people hold tickets to your events, you'll be asked to sort those out first; the Delete your Memoir account page explains how.
Events are run by their organizers, not by us
Memoir sells tickets on behalf of the person hosting the event. The organizer is responsible for the event actually happening, for what it's like, and for cancellations and refunds. We provide the software.
If an event is cancelled or doesn't match its description, the organizer handles the refund. Payments run through Stripe, and Stripe's terms apply to them.
Tickets
A ticket admits one person. Its QR code changes every 30 seconds, so a screenshot won't get anybody in — bring the app or the ticket page.
Free events and private events are one ticket per person. Paid public events allow up to 8 tickets per person.
Buying tickets to resell them, or using scripts or automation to buy them, isn't allowed and we may cancel tickets bought that way.
What we charge
Creating an event and selling free tickets costs nothing. On each paid ticket the buyer pays a service fee on top of the ticket price: our fee ($2 on a ticket up to $60, $3 under $120, and $4 from $120) plus Stripe's card processing cost. Every price we show includes it, and its amount is shown before you pay. The organizer is the seller: payments go to the organizer's own Stripe account, and the organizer receives the full ticket price.
All ticket sales are final, except that you get a full refund, service fee included, if the organizer cancels the event, or if the organizer moves it to another date or to another area and you ask within 7 days of the change, and before the event starts. A new start time on the same date, or a new venue in the same area, doesn't come with a refund; you're told about it all the same. Tickets bought before 10 October 2026 keep a refund for any change of date, time or location. We refund our own fee; the organizer covers the rest, including Stripe's card fee. If you sell a ticket on to a friend at face value, you're refunded the face value; the service fee you paid isn't refunded.
You can make AI art in Google Gemini and paste it in; Memoir sends nothing to Gemini. Uploading your own Event Art is unlimited and free.
What you post
You keep ownership of your photos, videos and messages. You give us permission to store and display them inside Memoir so the feature works — showing your Memories to other people at that event, for instance. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, with one exception: the text of messages you sent in chats stays after you delete your account, shown as "Deleted user," so the conversations other people were part of still make sense. To have that text removed as well, email privacy@memoir.events before you delete your account.
Memoir has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don't post anything illegal, hateful, sexually explicit or violent, anything that harasses or threatens somebody or impersonates them, or anything you don't have the rights to. Don't upload other people's private information. Memoir checks what you write for words it doesn't allow and may refuse to post it.
If you host an invite-only event, only add phone numbers of people who'd expect to hear from you.
Private messages. You can send a private message to someone going to the same event as you. The first one is a request: one message, text only, until they accept, and up to 5 new requests a day. Don't use them for advertising, spam or anything these rules forbid. You choose who can send you requests, or turn them off, in Settings > Messages.
Using Memoir fairly
Use Memoir the way it's meant to be used: to go to events and to host them. Don't:
- copy, scrape or collect events, profiles, posts or other people's information from Memoir, in bulk by hand or with bots, scripts, crawlers or other automated tools. Search engines that follow our robots.txt are fine.
- copy, decompile, reverse engineer or take apart the Memoir app or website, or try to get its source code, except where the law allows it regardless of this rule.
- use Memoir, or anything you collected from it, to build or improve a competing product or service.
- contact Memoir's hosts or guests in bulk using information you got from Memoir.
- get around rate limits, bot checks, blocks or other ways we protect Memoir, or reach parts of Memoir you aren't allowed to.
We may suspend accounts and block access that break these rules, and take any other action the law allows.
What Memoir owns
Memoir belongs to Memoir Events, LLC: the app and the website, their design and look, the Event Art templates and the art Memoir draws from them, the Memoir name and logos, and the words we write. They're protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use Memoir as these terms allow, and we can end it if you break them. Nothing else is licensed to you.
Event Art that comes with your ticket is yours to keep and view in Memoir, and to share as a picture for personal, non-commercial use. It doesn't give you rights to the design. What you post stays yours (see What you post).
Texts from Memoir
By agreeing to these terms you agree that Memoir may text the phone number on your account about events you hold a ticket for: your ticket when you get one, a reminder two days before a paid event, and a message if the date, time or venue changes or the event is cancelled. These texts are informational, never marketing, and few. Reply STOP to any of them to stop, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Memoir doesn't text people who aren't on Memoir.
Reports, blocking and suspension
You can report a message, private message, message request, Memory, Lost & Found post, event, its Event Art, a host page or a person from its ··· menu (in the app, press and hold a message), and block anyone, from one of their messages or from their profile. Blocking someone hides everything they post and send from you, and you can't be in a Tribe together; they aren't told. The one exception is an event's Crew chat, where the people putting the event on always see each other: anyone added to a Crew can leave it, and the organizer can remove messages there.
We review every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these rules and suspend the accounts that post it. A suspended account can't post, create events or host, and keeps the tickets it holds. We may also remove an account. Where it's reasonable to, we'll say why.
Service changes
Memoir is under active development. Features may change or be removed. We'll give notice in the app before changes that would affect an event you've already scheduled or a ticket you already hold.
